At least three (3) Tanzanians led by Nurdin Hassuji have confirmed participation in the forthcoming Rwabushenyi Memorial Chess Championship scheduled to run from Saturday 10th to Wednesday 14th December 2011 at Hotel Africana.

This will be the first time that Tanzanian Chess players take part in a tournament in Uganda.

The confirmation from Tanzania comes on the heels of confirmation from about seven Kenyans who have already affirmed their participation in the FIDE rated event sponsored by Civil Aviation Authority for the third year running.

Renown Ugandan players Grace Daniel Nsubuga and Kantinti Shaddrack have also confirmed their participation in the event. Having missed the recently concluded National Chess Championship Nusbuga and Kantiti are fresh enough and their vast experience can be relied on to strengthen Ugandan player's hopes for the top prize.

Winners in the Men's and Ladies categories will walk away with prizes and prestigious trophies among others. There will also be competition in the Under 14 age category.

Registration for participation in the event is Shs. 10,000/= for Ugandans and 10 dollars for non Ugandans.
